12-Fret Cutaway
I believe the 12-fret cutaway design is the answer to producing sonorous bass response in the OOO design while allowing access to the higher frets. The rich trebles of the grand auditorium design are complimented by a rich and full bass providing uniform response from the high C to the low E.
This is a guitar designed for finger pickers with a 1 7/8" width at the nut, a 25.4" scale to provide just a little more power. The cutaway joins the fingerboard at the 15th fret, allowing easy access to the high end of the finger board.
The model pictured here has master grade Indian rosewood back and sides with Koawood bindings with black-white purflings setting the binding off from the sides. The purflings are rosewood and white herringbone, the soundhole is surrounded with an abalone inner rosette ring. The top is master grade Adarondack spruce. The pyramid bridge allows for final tuning of the body resonance and is of ebony. The ebony fingerboard has an ivoroid accent line inside of the outer ebony binding. The neck is Black Walnut.
