Special Model
This guitar is the first in a series of instruments with carvings of the twelve figures of the Chinese zodiac. The first creature is the rat: forthright, tenacious, intense, meticulous, charismatic, sensitive, intellectual, industrious, charming, eloquent, sociable, artistic, shrewd.

The instrument has a pre-WWII German Spruce top, forty-five year-old quilted big leaf maple back and sides, paua abalone top perimater and rosette, herringbone and paua abalone back stripe, flamed jatoba bindings with mitered black and white wood purflings on the sides and back, ebony and ivoroid fingerboard binding, cocabolo and holly front headstock veneer and quilted elm back headstock veneer, mahogany neck with gold-plated Schaller Mini tuners with black chrome grasps.
