Friederich Guitar |

|
This design takes the traditional design of classical designs into the
late 20th century by extending the active part of the top to the upper
transverse brace which is above the sound hole. It also utilizes
laminated sides (rosewood on the outside and mahogany on the inside)
which inhance the coupling of the top and back producing increased
sound volume enabling the instrument to be played easily in
instrumental ensembles including violins and wind instruments. This is
a big room guitar which still has the attributes of traditional
instruments in sweetness of tone as opposed to the sometimes brittle
tone developed in the modern lattice-braced instruments.

The top is Engleman spruce with a German "Bug" rosette, five
line purflings black/white/black/mahogany/black, lace wood bindings
with black/white mitered lines sides and back, fancy end graft,
cocabolo headstock veneer with lace wood center stripe with maple lines
with maple and ebony underlayment on the front and black
walnut burl on the back, ebony fingerboard, back Indian rosewood, sides
Indian rosewood outers and mahogany inners, Brazilian rosewood bridge,
Sloane tuners. |
